This war ended in success for the coalition forces. Or was it really success? Some people would say that it was not simply because we did not push all the way to Baghdad and take the whole country from Saddam right then. Hey, if we had done that then, then we might be actually pulling our troops out now from rebuilding the country. But others say that if we had pushed on to take the whole country we would have angered many Middle eastern countries that are our allies and they could have turned against the western world.
This war showed our military superiority. A victory over a fairly modern country in only one hundred hours on the ground. This also showed how advanced our technology was at the time. Hitting a target within yards without even being really close to there to paint the target was unheard of until then.
It was also unique because once the cease-fire was signed the fighting just stopped. Usually there was still little pockets of fighting once a war is over but in this war it all just kind of stopped.
Through this war the western world secured a place were they could get their "black gold" until that supply ran out. It was extremely economically beneficial
